The Feminine Roots Story

Nubian Sage was the youngest of three children despite her mom’s wish for only two children, born on the outskirts of Chicago. Nubian has been through a lot. She grew up in a home where her parents were not nurturers, she was not allowed to express her thoughts or emotions, with no one to turn to for advice or guidance. She also grew up witnessing many adult breakups, heartaches, affairs, domestic abuse, and alcoholism.

Her mom put Nubian out at age 17, and at age 19, she moved in with her boyfriend. She fell in love with him, and later, they married. She thought her life was now perfect!

But then things started to turn.

During her marriage, she experienced emotional and physical abuse. Her husband heavily used drugs and alcohol and had multiple affairs. Nubian thought an ultimatum for him to join the military and move away would change him, only to discover he was still the same person he was when they left.

Two children later, Nubian left that relationship to start a new life for herself and her two sons. To leave, she stayed in a shelter for battered women until she was able to find a permanent home.

A few years after being settled and moving forward with her new home and life, she received a call from her husband, who had since moved to California to get his life together. He wanted to be with his sons and for them to be a family again, but she was no longer in love.

Feminine Roots supports and guides women in reconnecting with the root of their natural essence.

The call haunted Nubian because she was concerned about being responsible for her sons’ lack of a father. She knew from personal experience what it was like not to have a father. After much contemplation and prayer, she moved to California with her two sons to reunite the family.

Although her husband had changed for the better, their relationship ended once again after 2 ½ years, and the marriage ended in divorce.

After the divorce, Nubian started to focus more on herself through reading self-help books and attending self-development workshops. She now found herself on a journey.

As she was discovering, healing, and growing, she met a few inspiring people who introduced her to a different lifestyle. She became vegetarian and started learning about herbs and healing the body naturally. She was so excited about what she was learning.

She personally met and worked with world-renowned healers and authors she knew of from her readings. She attended some of their seminars. Some of them inspired her to start her own holistic business while working a corporate job.

Gravitating to new energy and learning from others was an amazing experience for Nubian.

Throughout the years, she continued to grow spiritually while learning more about natural healing remedies and herbal treatments.

In the midst of her learning more and more about herself and healing past hurts, she also would occasionally date. After being involved with a few emotionally unavailable men, she set out on a quest to find out more about men and what makes them tick and how she could win a man over. She read, studied, and enrolled in courses on how to be the woman men wanted, how men think, and what men want, only to discover years later the key was getting more into herself and awakening into her femininity. It was a game changer!

She took courses and became certified on many different healing modalities while discovering new ways to heal the body naturally. She worked with and consulted numerologists, holistic healers, shamans, mystics, and astrologists for her own healing journey and acquired a wealth of knowledge but was still on a journey to healing herself.

Nubian was fascinated with learning more about natural remedies and came across a teaching of meridians and acupressure points and enrolled in massage training. While she worked full time as a financial analyst and attended massage school, she even trained to become a yoga instructor, which was not part of her plan.

After 15 years of government employment, Nubian took a leap of faith and left the government job right at the beginning of an economic meltdown. But she was determined to follow her passions!

Two years after leaving her job, Nubian had added to her already numerous certifications. She was now a licensed massage therapist, esthetician, yoga instructor, healer, International Kundalini, Certified Spiritual Counselor, and Certified Sacred Women-Womb Healer. Then, for many reasons, Nubian decided leave California.

Once she arrived at her new destination, with under $400, she decided she would open a day spa. Three months after her arrival, she signed the lease for her spa business.

A couple of years later, she was introduced to Yoni Steaming. She took the training to become a Yoni Steam Practitioner and later became a Yoni Steam instructor and offered it as a service, which was not part of her plan.

Without advertising, Nubian started getting calls from students who, for some reason, wanted her to certify them, which was not part of her plan.

Since she has a desire to help and support women womb wellness, she began discovering more within the holistic field of traditional practices for reproductive health. She traveled to Thailand to learn womb lifting and herbal remedies and to Belize to learn the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy, where the practice originated.

Through her journey of learning, discovering, shedding, and growing, she brings a wealth of knowledge, experiences, and insight to help and inspire others.

This is the beginning of Feminine Roots.

Feminine Roots supports and guides women in reconnecting with the root of their natural essence, their FEMININITY, by tapping into natural and traditional teachings. At the root of every woman is her feminine energy, which is her innate power. Often, due to social standards, expectations, and the demanding modern world, her innate ability becomes suppressed or dormant. When a woman truly embodies her innate feminine energy and essence, she can attract what she wants with little to no effort!

When she is in her full expression, she has the power to transform her community and bring balance to the world. As every woman comes into herself, she will energetically encourage others to do the same, which can heal past wounds and give favor to future generations.
